Conditions We Treat.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can be used as a natural approach to fertility without the use of Western medical interventions. The goal of treatment is to enhance a couple’s, or singles overall reproductive health, allowing for natural conception and pregnancy to be possible. It is preferable to treat both partners, as most fertility issues affect both males and females.

For those undergoing Western fertility treatments, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) offers support on both a physical and psychological level, and treatment increases the success for many Assisted Reproductive Techniques.

At Scarsdale Acupuncture, we invest wholeheartedly in our patients’ well-being. We work in conjunction with Reproductive Endocrinologists from RMA of NY, Generation Next Fertility, Summit Health and other local physicians to help treat patients undergoing ART.

Many doctors have begun to recognize the effectiveness of an integrated Eastern/Western approach to their patients’ fertility. Although it is not a requirement, patients planning for a future IVF cycle should ideally begin preparatory treatment with TCM three months prior to beginning their hormonal treatment.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), when a woman’s body is in balance, the menstrual cycle should be regular with no symptoms before, during or after the menses. From the onset of menses, to conceiving and carrying a child, to postpartum recovery, to easing the path through menopause, TCM is extremely effective in treating symptoms associated with women’s health conditions. At Scarsdale Acupuncture, we help you navigate each stage with greater ease and comfort.

Chinese medicine is a wonderful option for pediatric healthcare; acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and essential oils are safe and effective for babies and children. Children respond remarkably well to treatments, which are effective for both acute and chronic conditions. Most children handle acupuncture very well, just a few points are needled and the needles are exceptionally thin. For those who cannot tolerate needles, we offer acupressure and non-invasive painless acu-laser treatments.

Facial rejuvenation is a non-surgical method of reducing the signs of aging while simultaneously revitalizing the whole body. As an anti-aging treatment, Chong utilizes traditional Chinese medicine in conjunction with modern therapies. In addition to acupuncture on specific areas of the face, treatments include high quality botanicals with acupressure, gua sha, facial cupping, and LED light therapy, depending on each patient’s specific needs.

These modalities stimulate the lymphatic system, improve circulation and reduce inflammation. Proper circulation is important to carry oxygen and nutrients to cells to help the body heal itself from the inside out. This holistic approach will leave you looking younger and feeling reenergized.
